use on salivary mucocele« Back to Questions List

I have an owner with an old Poo mix who I diagnosed with a salivary mucocele about two weeks ago. They wish to avoid surgery and were interested in ozone therapy, as clindamycin and pred did not help. Any experience with this? IF I am to proceed, would injecting ozonated saline into the mucocele and surrounding tissue be the way to go? Thank you for your time. Damian

Yes, I have treated this with ozone therapy before. I would drain everything off prior to using ozone GAS instead of ozonated saline. I really wouldn’t want to put saline back in as it is better to have that area drained off. Using the ozone gas will allow that to be absorbed into the tissue and have a similar effect to the saline.
